Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while officials has called for "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to restore power.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured significant strikes overnight. A minor lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The attacks follow periods of aerial attacks in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with attacks already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were bracing for more assaults.
